Ferien-Messe Wien 2027

Ferien-Messe Wien 2027 takes place from 14 to 17 January 2027 at Messe Wien (VIECON) in Vienna, the city's main exhibition centre next to the Prater. The organiser describes it as Austria's largest fair for holidays, travel and leisure. It is a key event for tourism boards, tour operators and destinations targeting Austrian travellers, and for agencies looking to build contacts in Central Europe.

About Ferien-Messe Wien

Ferien-Messe Wien brings together destinations, tour operators, transport companies and leisure providers, with a consumer focus on holiday planning for the year ahead. The programme includes stages and areas such as the ReiseArena, a Flavours stage for food and drink, a travel cinema and a children's programme. It runs alongside Vienna Drive, a mobility show covered by the same ticket in recent editions.

For Gulf, North African and Asian destinations and agencies, the fair is a way to reach the Austrian outbound market and the many diaspora communities living in Vienna. Europe-based diaspora agencies can use it to meet suppliers and to see which destinations are promoting themselves to Austrian holidaymakers.

Ferien-Messe Wien 2027 dates and venue

Ferien-Messe Wien 2027 runs from 14 to 17 January 2027 at Messe Wien (VIECON) in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna, next to the Prater.

How to get to Vienna for Ferien-Messe Wien

Vienna International Airport (VIE) is the main airport, with airport trains and S-Bahn services to the city. Messe Wien is served directly by the U2 U-Bahn line at Messe-Prater and Krieau stations, making it easy to reach from the city centre.

Bratislava Airport (BTS) is an alternative about an hour away. Travellers from the Middle East, North Africa and Asia usually fly direct or connect through a European or Gulf hub.

Where to stay

Leopoldstadt, where the exhibition centre is located, has a good choice of hotels near Messe Wien and is linked to the centre by the U2 line. The Innere Stadt and the area around Praterstern are also convenient.

January is generally a quieter month for Vienna hotels, but trade fair dates and ball season can push up demand, so exhibitors should book early.

Exhibitors with heavy stand materials may prefer hotels within walking distance of the venue or along the U2 line, which saves time on build-up and dismantling days. Visitors who want to combine the fair with sightseeing can stay in the historic centre and travel to the fair by U-Bahn in under fifteen minutes.

Why travel agencies attend Ferien-Messe Wien

Ferien-Messe Wien is mainly a consumer fair, which makes it useful for destinations and tour operators that want direct feedback from Austrian travellers. Agencies can arrange meetings with tourism boards and operators on the stands, scout new products and observe which destinations are trending for the coming season.

Agencies attending as exhibitors should plan stand staffing across all four days, with weekends usually the busiest. Visitors and exhibitors from outside the EU should check entry requirements for Austria with the official authorities and allow time for any documents.
