Jordan Visa for Travel Agencies
For travel agencies only. This service is for registered travel agencies and agents who sell Jordan visas to their own customers. If you are a traveller, please contact a travel agency.
In short: Jordan sorts every passport into two groups. "Non-restricted" nationalities get a visa at an embassy, at most land and air entry points, or as an instant e-visa from the Ministry of Interior. "Restricted" nationalities need the Ministry's prior approval, applied for from outside Jordan by a sponsor or a licensed Jordanian tourism office. GCC residence, a Schengen or US visa, or travel in an approved tour group can change the route for some passports.
The official system: Ministry of Interior, embassies and border posts
Jordan's visa rules are set by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), through its Directorate of Nationality and Foreigners Affairs. The Public Security Directorate applies them at the border. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs points travellers to the MOI e-services portal (eservices.moi.gov.jo) as the official place to apply online, in a note dated February 2026.
The MOI portal covers 16 electronic services, including visit, transit, exit/entry, study and work visas. Applicants register as individuals, companies, government bodies, educational institutions or civil society organisations. Two rules from the MOI apply to every file:
- Applications are accepted only while the traveller is outside Jordan. Do not let a customer fly in and "sort it out" from Amman.
- If an interview is needed, the applicant can go to the nearest Jordanian embassy, as most missions are linked to the electronic system. They must bring their electronic application number.
The MOI e-visa itself is described as an instant service: the traveller pays and prints the visa before travel, and it is issued once payment is made. It is open to non-restricted nationalities, and to some Arab and foreign nationalities under conditions explained below.
Jordan visa types
| Visa | Purpose | Validity / stay | Entries | Usually used by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| E-visa, single entry | Tourism and visits | Three months (MOI e-visa page) | Single | Non-restricted nationalities buying before travel |
| E-visa, double entry | Tours that leave and re-enter (for example via Aqaba or a Saudi land border) | Three months | Two | Multi-country itineraries |
| E-visa, multiple entry | Frequent visitors | Six months, one year or five years | Multiple | Business travellers and regular visitors |
| Visa on arrival, single entry | Tourism | One month, extendable at a police station (Ministry of Tourism and Jordan Pass pages) | Single | Non-restricted nationalities at Queen Alia Airport and most land crossings |
| Visit visa with prior approval | Visits sponsored from inside Jordan | See official portal | See official portal | Restricted nationalities with a Jordanian or resident sponsor |
| Tourist visa with prior approval | Tourism | See official portal | See official portal | Restricted nationalities, filed only by a licensed Jordanian tourism office |
| Transit visa | Passing through Jordan | 72 hours from entry, not extendable | Single | Restricted nationalities with an onward visa or residence |
| Treatment visa | Medical care | See official portal | See official portal | Patients and companions |
Where official pages disagree: the MOI e-visa page gives the single-entry visa three months, while the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities page (updated 4 November 2026) and the Jordan Pass FAQ say the single-entry visa is valid for one month. The Ministry of Tourism page also says double- and multiple-entry visas come from embassies, while the MOI sells them as e-visas. Both may be right for different channels; check the visa the portal actually issues.
Who can apply how, by nationality
The MOI publishes the official list of restricted countries, meaning nationalities that need prior approval. Its English page was last updated 9 November 2025. Every passport not on that list is "non-restricted", but several Arab nationalities have extra conditions that are published elsewhere or not at all.
| Nationality | Official status | Notes for your desk |
|---|---|---|
| GCC citizens (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman) | Not on the restricted list | An older Jordan Tourism Board list puts them in the visa-on-arrival group; confirm on the MOI portal |
| GCC residents (Arab and foreign nationalities) | MOI e-visa open to listed nationalities holding residence of at least 6 months in a listed country, or a Schengen or US visa valid for at least 6 months, plus a return ticket if leaving by air | The lists sit inside the MOI portal; check the passport and residence country there |
| Iraq | Restricted | MOI FAQ: Iraqis with a valid GCC residence of at least six months and a return ticket get a visa at the border without prior approval |
| Yemen, Sudan, Somalia | Restricted | Prior approval through a sponsor or a Jordanian tourism office |
| Egypt | Not on the restricted list | An older Jordan Tourism Board list said Egyptians need a visa before arrival. MOI pages we checked do not settle it, so confirm with the MOI or the Jordanian embassy in Cairo |
| Syria | Not on the country list, but handled under separate MOI decisions | MOI allows Syrian tour groups only through a tourism office request, with passports held by the office; individual cases: check MOI |
| Libya | Not on the country list | MOI decision lets Libyan tour groups of five or more enter without prior approval on an approved programme; individual travellers: check MOI |
| Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco | Not on the restricted list | Older Jordan Tourism Board list: visa on arrival |
| Tunisia | Not on the restricted list | Older Jordan Tourism Board list: on arrival for ages 18 to 35 only; confirm |
| Palestine | Not named on the list | MOI note: holders of "travel pass" documents from any country are treated as restricted; check the document type before quoting |
| Nigeria, Ethiopia | Restricted | Nigeria: MOI decision allows tour groups of five or more on an approved programme without prior approval |
| Kenya | Not on the restricted list | Non-restricted route |
| Pakistan, Bangladesh | Restricted | Pakistan: same tour group exception as Nigeria |
| India | Not on the restricted list | Non-restricted route |
| Non-Arab African residents of the GCC | Special on-arrival route (Ministry of Tourism FAQ) | Jordan Pass FAQ: visa on arrival at Queen Alia Airport with a GCC residence and passport each valid for at least six months |
The MOI decision on tour groups from Nigeria, the Philippines, Colombia, Pakistan and Libya is published as a news item without a date. Under it, groups of at least five enter and leave on an approved manifest, with departure guarantees from the Jordanian tourism office. Also note the MOI's English and Arabic restricted lists differ by one African country, which suggests at least one page is out of date.
Official information checked on 5 November 2026. Rules change, so check the official portal before you take payment.
Processing time
- E-visa for eligible nationalities: instant once paid, according to the MOI.
- Prior approval (visit, tourist and transit visas for restricted nationalities): the MOI service cards list the steps (checking, consulting "business partners" such as security bodies, possible interview, decision by account, SMS and email) but give no standard number of days. The cards mention an urgent service, priced per application, for visit and transit requests.
- Embassy visas: follow the mission's own timing.
For restricted passports, start the approval as soon as the tour dates are fixed. Do not issue non-refundable tickets until the approval notice is in the account. MOI says approval notices need no signature, because the decision is recorded on the systems of the Public Security Directorate and the embassies.
Documents and requirements
From the MOI e-visa and service cards:
- Passport or travel document valid for at least six months (Jordan Gate and every MOI card).
- Residence permit valid for at least six months when the traveller lives outside their country of nationality, plus a copy of the exit and re-entry visa where the country of residence issues one.
- Return ticket when the traveller leaves Jordan by air (e-visa route for residence or Schengen/US holders).
- Proof of relationship and reason for visit for sponsored visit visas, and the sponsor's ID or residence; a company sponsor adds a valid professions licence.
- Onward visa or residence for transit visas.
- Hotel reservation, listed on the Jordan Gate visa page.
- Some MOI service cards still list a COVID-19 vaccination certificate. The cards look dated; prepare it only if the portal asks.
Agency playbook for Jordan
Petra and Wadi Rum. A typical leisure programme links Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Dead Sea. For non-Arab customers, the Jordan Pass from the Ministry of Tourism covers entry to more than 40 sites, including Petra, Jerash and Wadi Rum. It waives the single-entry visa fee if the visitor buys it before arrival and stays at least two full nights. It does not cover multiple-entry visas. The Jordan Pass FAQ also states it is not available to holders of Arab nationalities, so do not build it into packages for Egyptian, Iraqi, Gulf or Maghreb customers.
Entry points. Queen Alia International Airport and the Sheikh Hussein (Jordan River) crossing issue visas on arrival to eligible nationalities. The Jordan Pass FAQ says Wadi Araba (Aqaba–Eilat) issues one only to Jordan Pass holders of non-restricted nationalities. The Jordan Tourism Board's border page says Wadi Araba and King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge need a visa in advance. Treat both bridges to the west as "visa before travel" unless the MOI confirms otherwise. Non-restricted visitors flying into Aqaba's King Hussein International Airport need no visa there, according to the Jordan Pass FAQ; restricted nationalities need one from an embassy first. Saudi land crossings at Umari, Mudawara and Durra are listed as 24-hour with visas available.
Restricted nationalities and tourism offices. For Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sudanese, Nigerian or Ethiopian clients, the MOI tourist visa has to be filed by a Jordanian tourism office that meets Ministry of Tourism conditions. Sell these trips through a licensed Jordanian ground handler, and agree in writing who files the approval and holds the departure guarantee.
Seasonality. Spring and autumn are peak months for Petra and Wadi Rum; Gulf families favour Amman and the Dead Sea in summer and Eid. Approval-based passports need the most lead time exactly when hotels in Wadi Musa are fullest.
Common mistakes. Quoting on-arrival for an Iraqi without checking GCC residence length; selling a Jordan Pass to an Arab passport holder; routing a restricted national through Wadi Araba; and filing from inside Jordan.
Ordering a Jordan visa in QuickOTA
In the QuickOTA B2B Panel, approved agencies see Jordan visas at B2B rates; there are no public prices. Choose the visa that matches the traveller's route, enter each passenger and pay from your prepaid wallet, with no minimum top-up. Upload passports, residence permits and any sponsor or tour papers the order asks for, then track progress in the panel. QuickOTA is not an embassy and has no say in the decision, which rests with the Jordanian authorities. We work with travel agencies only. Send a partnership request with a phone or WhatsApp number and our team will be in touch.
FAQs
Does an Egyptian living in Saudi Arabia need prior approval for Jordan?
Egypt is not on the MOI restricted list, and the MOI e-visa accepts listed Arab nationalities with at least six months' residence in a listed country. Egypt's place on that list is shown only inside the portal, so check it there before you quote.
Can my Indian customers use the Jordan Pass?
India is not on the restricted list and the pass is sold to non-Arab nationalities. The visa fee waiver applies only if the pass is bought before arrival and the visitor stays at least two full nights.
How fast is the Jordan e-visa?
The MOI describes it as instant once payment is made. Prior approval for restricted nationalities has no published standard time.
Can a Pakistani group travel to Petra without prior approval?
An MOI decision allows tour groups of at least five Pakistani nationals on an approved programme and manifest, with departure guarantees from Jordanian tourism offices. Individual Pakistani travellers still need prior approval.
Which border should a customer use from Israel or the West Bank side?
Official pages say Sheikh Hussein issues visas on arrival to most eligible nationalities. King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge needs a visa arranged in advance. Wadi Araba depends on the Jordan Pass rule and nationality.
