QuickOTA

B2B Travel Portal for Travel Agencies in Egypt

Short answer: QuickOTA works with Egyptian travel agencies that do not have IATA accreditation. You search, hold and book flights in the free B2B Panel, and QuickOTA issues the ticket. To open an account you need a company registered in Egypt or your tourism company licence. There is no setup fee and no minimum wallet deposit, and you sell to your customers at your own price.

This page is for agency owners in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria and across Egypt who sell flights and want a partner to issue their tickets. It explains how tourism companies are licensed in Egypt and how QuickOTA fits a new or small agency.

Key takeaways

  • QuickOTA does not require IATA accreditation. QuickOTA issues the ticket.
  • To open a QuickOTA account, your company registration or your tourism company licence is enough.
  • Under Law 38 of 1977, ticket sales and airline agency are a separate licence class: class B.
  • B2B Panel access is free, with no setup fee and no minimum deposit.
  • Flights are live today; hotels, tours, visas and group requests are coming soon.

Can Egyptian agencies without IATA accreditation work with QuickOTA?

Yes. IATA accreditation lets an agency issue tickets in its own name and settle with airlines through BSP. QuickOTA works with agencies that do not have it. You book in the B2B Panel, pay from your prepaid wallet, and QuickOTA issues the e-ticket.

Accreditation brings fixed costs and obligations, such as financial checks, a financial guarantee and regular BSP settlement. Many new agencies prefer a ticketing partner while they build their customer base. How are tourism companies licensed in Egypt?

Tourism companies in Egypt are regulated by Law 38 of 1977, as amended (most recently in the text we checked by Law 125 of 2008). No tourism company may operate without a licence from the Ministry of Tourism, now the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (Article 3). The law sorts companies into three classes by activity.

Class Activities (Law 38 of 1977, Articles 1 and 2)
A All tourism company activities, including organising group and individual trips inside and outside Egypt with transport, accommodation and services
B Selling or issuing travel tickets, baggage and seat reservations, and acting as agent for airlines, shipping and other transport companies
C Operating land, sea, air and river transport for tourists

Capital and deposit: the law, as amended in 2008, sets a minimum company capital of EGP 2,000,000 and a financial deposit with the Ministry, set by the executive regulations, of no more than EGP 200,000 (Article 1).

The detailed procedure is in the executive regulations (Ministerial Decree 209 of 2009, amended several times). Ask the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities for the current documents, fees and deposit before you apply.

They need ticketing without IATA, clear total prices to quote fast, a way to pay that does not lock cash in large deposits, and simple handling of changes.

How does QuickOTA work for an Egyptian agency?

An Egyptian agency searches flights in the QuickOTA B2B Panel, checks the fare rules and service fee, holds the booking, pays from its prepaid wallet and downloads the e-ticket from its booking details. QuickOTA issues the ticket. The agency then charges its customer at its own price.

  1. Request agency access with your company registration or tourism company licence number.
  2. We review your request and ask for anything else we need, then open your panel.
  3. Search and compare fares. Approved agencies can search before their first top-up.
  4. Top up your wallet with the amount you need, online or by bank deposit. There is no minimum deposit.
  5. Book and ticket. QuickOTA issues the e-ticket. Sell at your price and handle after-sale requests from the panel.

Payments in Egypt: what to know

Egyptian customers pay in many ways, including InstaPay, the Central Bank of Egypt's instant transfer app launched in 2022, Meeza cards (the national card scheme) and Fawry's bill-payment and retail network. How your customers pay you is between you and your bank or payment provider.

Paying QuickOTA is separate: you top up your prepaid wallet online or by bank deposit, with no minimum amount. QuickOTA does not offer credit lines.

Your own Arabic booking website

When you are ready to sell online under your own brand, the QuickOTA white-label booking website supports Arabic with a right-to-left layout. It includes a page builder, blog and your own domain, and one login manages both your B2B Panel and your website. It is a monthly plan with optional modules; contact us for a quote.
